Jehovah Jireh

Once upon a time, I was born in korea. I immigrated to the united states when I was in elementary. And then my green card expired so I have to apply for my American citizenship.
So today, I went to the citizenship/immigration service office to get my fingerprints recorded and stuff. And let me tell you, the people there were the rudest, most 싸가지없는 creatures I’ve ever encountered before in my life. unfortunately this place is not on yelp.com, or else I would make an account just to give them a negative rating.
As soon as I walked in, the receptionist man kept trying to talk to me in korean (he was disgustingly bad at it, btw) as if I wouldn’t know English cus I’m not from America? I couldn’t even prove to him that I knew english because his accent was so bad that I couldn’t understand anything he was saying, in any language. But dude needs to check himself and better hope english is his second language cus he sucked at talking more than a chimpanzee on drugs.
Then the guy that I turned in my forms to was all “oh you’re from korea eh? Anyunghaseyo” which sounds pretty pleasant when I type it out like this, but let me tell you, the tone he used was NOT pleasant at all. The way he talked to me was so demeaning and rude. I was just like “yeah well I grew up in america. Where are you from, mexico or something?” (jk, I didn’t say that last part…)
And the guy that worked the fingerprint machine was so crabby. He would give me instructions what to do (in Spanish or something? I don’t even know) and get so annoyed when I asked him to repeat himself. Well myy bad that you mumble and I can’t hear a single thing you’re saying.
The only decent worker there was the guy who told me to turn off my phone. But even he was trying to talk to me in Chinese or something so I just stared at him dumbly until he pointed to a sign. But at least he was polite about it.
Idk. Usually I’m very calm and level-headed. My thing is to always avoid conflict & minimize contact with strangers. But today I was so. freaking. pissed. I was seriously gonna give them a piece of my mind, but my brother dragged me away. I did write them a very angry message though. Something along the lines of “you need to give your staff a lesson on basic etiquette because they have absolutely no manners.” And “if it’s too much to ask that you show some respect, at least learn to show some decency to others.”
Okay I wasn’t just mad just because they were being dbags to me. I mean I can handle being treated bad, but more than anything, I was mad for everyone else that was there. You can tell that they are so rich in a language & culture that we know nothing about. And yet, they are so willing to overlook being treated like horse poop because they are too hopeful for this, and too anxious that something might go wrong. Because their lives depend on this- the quality of it, where they spend it, what they can do with it- it all depends on whether their application will go through or not. So it makes sense that they are too worried to be mad. So I was mad in place for them.
Those workers act all high & mighty, and why, because they have their citizenships and we don’t? I get that it must get dreary having to work with foreigners all day or whatever, but you know what. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Especially not because they don’t have a piece of paper telling them which country they belong to.
Citizen or not, every person should be treated with respect.
Because everyone that visits that office, including myself, is someone that Jesus died for so that we could be citizens in heaven. The amount of love and sacrifice that was displayed on the cross, that was because God DESIRES to give us a citizenship in His home.  No need for fingerprints or passports or rude workers, but through faith alone we are welcomed into His place.
Korean, Mexican, Americans alike, God deems each human soul to be of infinite value. Who is anyone to say otherwise?
I may be a fob but my citizenship in Him is secure.

In all of my life Iʼm searching
For what can be only found in You
Only You can satisfy
Iʼve seen what the world can offer
In all that can sway me I have found
Only You can satisfy

To live for Christ, I first must die
To all the rivals in my life
Only You can satisfy
Only You can satisfy
In everything I have in You
I find, You satisfy

In all that now lies forsaken
Nothing can match Your love for me
Only You can satisfy
Forever my heart awakened
To worship the One who sets me free
Only You can satisfy, only You can satisfy

peanuts!

peanuts!
